The Young Writers’
Literary Competition
Est. 2026 · Fiction · Poetry · Nonfiction
A biannual opportunity for emerging literary voices — anonymous review, editorial mentorship, and publication in a bound anthology for young writers.
About
On the Founding of the Competition
Taking base in Chadwick International, the YWLC (formerly CICWC) aims to present Middle School students with the opportunity to engage in creative writing by spurring thinking processes, encouraging writing practice, and offering constructive feedback.
Creative writing is a valuable way for students to explore their imaginations, express their perspectives, and develop their voices. It encourages critical thinking, nurtures empathy, and strengthens communication skills—abilities that extend far beyond the page. Through this contest, we hope to give students a space to grow both as writers and as thinkers.
